DIY Holiday Decor on a Budget

Holidays are one of the most expensive times of the year for many. There is the financial burden of buying gifts, attending holiday parties, and much more. To top it off,  you want your home to feel decorated and cozy for the season. Purchasing decorations for the holidays is just another expense to add to the list. One easy way to save some money is to make your own holiday decor. Not only is it cheap, but can also be a fun holiday activity that you can enjoy with friends and family.

One of the cheapest easiest and cheapest ways to decorate for the holidays is to make your own garland. Making your own garland is much cheaper than purchasing it from the store, and it can also be a fun activity to do. There are so many different types of garland you can make for the holiday season. All you need to do is find a wrapping paper you love– we would suggest using kraft paper which is thicker and you can personalize. You could paint the whole a solid color like red, green or gold or decorate with polka dots like this diy does. You can order some on Amazon, cut it to the size you want, and have some hanging off your table.
