Advance Financial Adds Community Outreach VP

NASHVILLE –  As a part of its ongoing and extensive efforts to be a good corporate neighbor, Advance Financial has hired Shantrelle Edmondson as its new vice president of community outreach.

“Nashville is our home, and it’s important to us to do everything in our power to make this city an even better place in which to raise a family,” Mike Hodges, Advance Financial CEO, said. “Shantrelle can utilize her deep ties to the Nashville community to help us continue our efforts along these lines.”

Edmondson, the former executive director of the Eighteenth Avenue Family Enrichment Center, will oversee grant giving, community engagement, and the creation of volunteer opportunities for Advance Financial staff.

“We have narrowed our focus to three areas: children and youth, education and financial literacy, and health and wellness,” she said. “Advance Financial truly believes that businesses have a social responsibility to improve the communities in which they operate. We have worked hard and will continue to work hard to meet that responsibility.”

Currently, Advance Financial supports Habitat for Humanity, the Bootstraps Foundation, the Black Police Association, and other community organizations. It was also recently honored by Hands On Nashville for Fight Night, a charity boxing exhibition whose proceeds benefit Not Alone, a 501(c)3 organization that provides no-cost, confidential counseling services for our veterans and their families. Advance Financial pays the full cost of the event’s production.

“We are fortunate that our business provides us the resources to be involved in this way,” Hodges said. “Shantrelle will help us take our community outreach to the next level.”

Advance Financial is the premier financial services provider in Middle Tennessee serving its customers 24/7 with dozens of convenient locations. Advance offers FREE Money Orders, short-term loans, check cashing, bill payment, and wire transfer.
