Second Harvest Food Bank
The Mission of the Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee opened its doors in 1978 with the mission to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in our community. Second Harvest provides a centrally located distribution center where food can be collected, inspected, sorted and distributed to soup kitchens, pantries and shelters, serving hungry people. Second Harvest has grown from distributing 160,000 pounds of food in the first year of operation to distributing 23,955,957 pounds of food during the 2012/2013 fiscal year.
