Live On The Green is an environmentally-friendly music festival, meaning that the ultimate goal is operating a completely waste free, carbon-neutral event. Part of offsetting the carbon footprint is supporting the local economy including local artists and vendors who have their roots in Music City, which allows for a reduced carbon footprint of travel.

Also, the event itself is held on a ‘green roof’. Almost ten years ago, the city replaced the old impermeable parking surface that once greeted visitors to City Hall with a five storey subterranean parking lot topped with a 2.25 acre ‘Green Roof’. The roof acts as a public meeting space and captures and utilizes of 50,000 gallons of rainwater each year.

Why Free?

Since we are Music City, Nashville believes in giving people the opportunity to enjoy free live music. Live On The Green is a celebration of Nashville’s passion for its music.
